“Now THAT’s what I call a lunch box!” laughed actor Johnny Quick, while reading the opening line of the opening episode of this heartwarming comedy that hopes to trivialize the real horrors of sex abuse and pedophilia. “Want my banana?”
Quick plays a school crossing guard who doesn’t just cross streets, but also crosses clearly defined social norms and laws.
“Know what that red hand sign means, little Bobby?” Quick’s character asks in one poignant scene. “Handjob time!” When Bobby quicken his pace away from Quick, he responds, “You don’t have the walk sign! Handjob!”
New series addresses the lighter side of #metoo and child rape.
Originally conceived as a potential vehicle for comedian Louis CK, “Pedophile Pete” is a tasteful and sympathetic look at love in its purest form. CK was dropped from consideration from the role because many in society somehow believe that his form of of sexual deviance makes him somehow deserving of atonement, while others who practice the oldest love are demonized for following their true instincts. Now THAT is a storyline that is worthy of disbelief.
